Create A Prosperity Consciousness: Seeing The Bright Side

by Rayanne Coy on December 27, 2011

As I sit by the fireplace, sipping coffee, I am awe struck by the view of a mountain range smack dab in front of me!  I think it is Mount Baldy in Sun Valley, Idaho, but I’m not for certain since we just arrived early this morning and I haven’t gotten all the facts down yet.   We’re here  on a family ski trip to celebrate my 50th birthday and I’m grateful to be someplace new.  It’s an adventure for us!

As I look out the window I notice the mountain to my right is more brown than white. There’s been very little snow falling out west.  We’ve been checking and rechecking the forecast and it’s always the same … no snow.

C’mon Snow!

When I focus on the lack of snow and the fact that we came all this way to experience great skiing and snowboarding, I feel disappointed.  What will we do for a week here if we can’t ski or snowboard?

Looking at the bright side

When I look straight ahead to the mountain in front of me and I see snow — I feel encouraged.  I begin to  see possibility and a bright side.

Seeing these two mountains, one brown and one white, reminds me that I can view any situation in my life and see lack or prosperity. Certainly, turning 50 has tempted me in the direction of seeing lack instead of prosperity.  I find that the more I focus on my age, the more I start to see health concerns, wrinkles, and the downward spiral begins. What’s good about getting older?

Then I remind myself that it’s all about attitude and I can control what I  choose to focus on. Would I love it to be snowing and to have a huge base of snow for our family ski trip? Absolutely! Is that happening right now, today? No.

So, what’s here in this place for us? What’s prosperous about having little to no snow?  What’s available to me now that I’m 50?  What’s the bright side?

The Daily Word of the day is Prosperity and the Psalm is “My cup runneth over.” Psalm 23:5.

“My prosperity is revealed to me through the medium of divine ideas. I do not linger on thoughts of lack or failure. I envision the unfoldment of divine possibilities and potential.”

Yes, getting older has it’s advantages!  Now I’m confident to speak my voice and I’m clearer about my beliefs.  I can experience the real me vs. being so concerned about what others think.  I can take more risks and feel less attached to the judgments of others.  I feel more free to be who God created me to be!

So — the practice is this:

Call forth a “snowy bright side” — a “prosperity consciousness” and allow it to take root and flourish within you by affirming: I live in an abundant universe, and I am prosperous.  Say this over and over and soon you will start to see it show up!

Don’t forget to look for the small and simple ways it shows up.  Sometimes we miss these as we are looking for something else.  Let go of any agenda you hold and be open.

My wish is that we can all bring this prosperity mindset forward as we think about the things that trouble or concern us.  There’s a barren brown side if we want to focus on that, AND there’s a luscious, white snowy side if we choose to look there.

What’s the white-snowy-bright side you may just be missing?  How could your life change for the better if you start seeing it more often?!
